I commend you for your effort in getting the stats but without the many smaller markets your numbers will be far wrong.

EDIT: @rpg guy - sony dominated the 360 until september in general. This turned round after the 360's pricecut. I'd say overall its relatively even considering christmas sales are huge.
given that December had five weeks and that November had four.
2.04m/4 weeks in Nov = 510k/week
2.15m/5 weeks in Dec = 430k/week
Does anyone really believe Nintendo would ship more in November weeks than in December weeks? Surely demand is always higher for everything in december?

Everyone did fine. Big loser is the ps2 - finally seems to losing all steam.
ps3- needs pricecut - everyone knows that
360- had price cut - selling brilliantly
wii - amazing as ever - price cut would see sales skyrocket to crazy numbers.
With the ps2 slowing down sony needs the ps3 to kick into gear.

although I think your wrong about the ps3 outselling the 360 in 2007. It was a virtual tie. Sony shipped more consoles but that was becasue MS overshipped for christmas 06 and retailers were left with around 1 million 360's extra for 2007. These 360's have been counted towards 2006 figures not 2007. So sold to consumer figures for 2007 are practically tied as are 2008 with the 360 having a 500K lead in the year i'd say. Close and neither are goin anywhere.

greenturd was referring to europe where it has sold brilliantly recently. Japan is a lost cause for the 360 this was established a long time ago.
the ps2 was the ps3's main competition not too long ago.
Japan loves the PS platform, North America love the 360 and europe loves them both. And all 3 regions love the wii just that little bit of alot more ;)
everytime a new piece of information comes out from developers the numbers are udated. Simple. They do their best. Hardware sales for them are alot more accurate than software though.

Nothing. The 360 and ps3 will continue to share HD games, neither console will be abandoned. The wii will continue to have brilliant and even better support in the coming years as it is the only console tracking like the ps2 is.
With both being replaced as primary console in 2012.
only the wii will do it. Align launches and you will see the ps3 is 9 million behind the ps2 and it was around now that ps2 sales exploded. The 360 is even further behind. The wii however is about 20 million ahead.
the wii and the DS are th big winners yoy though.
